BOZEMAN, Mont. – The man who died at Jackrabbit and Cameron Bridge has been identified.

The Gallatin County Sheriff’s Coroner identified Robert A. Melson, 67, as the driver of a vehicle that crashed.  The death was the result of a medical condition and not the vehicle crash that followed.

Trooper Brad Moore says with another deadly accident happening just the night before on Interstate 90 on the other side of Belgrade — it’s hard on emergency responders.

“This driver, male driver, was wearing a seatbelt,” Trooper Moore says. “It didn’t look like there were any significant signs of trauma so seatbelts. Seatbelts make a big difference out here. It’s hard on our guys and gals and all of our first responders to be dealing with this stuff, for sure.”

Officials say the identification of the person killed Wednesday on I-90 will not be released until relatives can be contacted.
