KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KSHB) — The Piper School District said several batteries have been stolen from buses in its Durham fleet.
Kansas City, Kansas, police said seven buses, each with two batteries, were affected. Officers are reviewing surveillance footage.
The KCK district said the buses are inoperable as a result of the theft in a Facebook post Friday morning.
Since other buses needed to run multiple routes to make up for the loss, buses were expected to be running late for pickup and drop off, according to the post.
Police said there is no fence around the area buses are parked overnight.
