Rocky River, OH (WEWS) — An arrest warrant has been issued for a would-be Grinch working as a bell ringer who allegedly stole $600 from a woman’s wallet when she dropped it near a collection pot on Tuesday.

April Harris, 47, has been charged with theft, according to Rocky River Municipal Court records.

Harris was working as a Salvation Army bell ringer outside Giant Eagle on Center Ridge Road when a woman unknowingly dropped her wallet nearby and went inside the grocery store, a Rocky River police report stated.

Authorities say Harris picked up the wallet and walked over to her collection pot where she pocketed $600 cash and then went inside and handed the wallet to the person who dropped it.

The incident was captured on the store’s security camera.
