Tulsa, OK (KJRH) — Kevin Stitt grew up in Oklahoma and founded Gateway Mortgage company in Jenks in 2000. But besides being well-known businessman, who is Kevin Stitt?

The governor-elect grew up in Norman and his father was a pastor at a church.

Stitt spent his summers in Green Country at his grandfather’s dairy farm in Skiatook.

He graduated from Oklahoma State University where he majored in finance.

Stitt and his wife Sarah have been married for 20 years and have six kids – ranging in ages from 4 all the way to 18.

Sarah says making the big move from Tulsa to the governor’s mansion in Oklahoma City is a little challenging.

“We’re going to stay behind until the end of the school year, so we’ll move in the summer,” Sarah said. “Our oldest daughter is a senior in high school so we said from the beginning we’d let her graduate before we made the move.”

Stitt’s eldest child actually voted for the very first time with her dad during the November election.

The family played a major role in Stitt’s campaign for governor–appearing in campaign ads–doing chores and weighing in on their dad as a governor.
