HONOLULU, Hawaii (KITV) — A recent Facebook post showing a photo of a former Hawaiian Humane Society worker has gone viral.

The group Poi Dogs & Popoki posted a picture — they claim was anonymously sent to them — asking if Harold Han, Director of Operations at the Hawaiian Human Society, engages in sport and trophy hunting of exotic animals.

KITV4 reached out to the Hawaiian Humane Society who said that he had resigned from his position amid the controversial photo.

The Hawaiian Humane Society released a statement saying, “As a general policy matter however, we can say the Humane Society’s long-standing position is that trophy hunting that exploits animals solely for entertainment is contrary to the values of a humane, aware and caring society.”
