TODAY

• Mike Pompeo meets his Mexican counterpart. The US secretary of state reportedly is due to meet Mexico’s foreign minister, as the US neighbor tries to stem the flow of migrants, averting tariffs threatened by President Donald Trump. The meeting happens as Trumptries to back away from racist jabs he made at four Democratic congresswomen of color who’ve criticized US border policies.

• Baseball welcomes more legends. Mariano Rivera, Roy Halladay, Edgar Martinez, Mike Mussina, Harold Baines and Lee Smith join the game’s greats in the National Baseball Hall of Fame. The induction ceremony begins at 1:30 p.m. ETon MLB Network and online.

MONDAY

• Washington honors a late SCOTUS justice. Justice John Paul Stevenswill lie in repose at the Supreme Court, where he served for nearly 35 years. A private funeral and interment at Arlington National Cemetery will be held the following day for the bench’s liberal leader, who died last weekat age 99.

• The World Scout Jamboree kicks off. More than 60,000 scouts and supporters are set to start gathering for the 24th global celebration of leadership and life skills. The two-week eventin West Virginia is co-hosted by the Boy Scouts of America, which this year haswelcomed girls to its older youth program and revealed child sexual abuseby thousands of leaders over decades.

TUESDAY

• The US Senate takes up the 9/11 bill. The first responders fund bill is expected to come to a vote on the Senate floor. The US House passed the measure, which extends through 2090 funding to help 9/11 responders pay for treatment for health problems they’ve faced since the terrorist attack. Comedian Jon Stewart has pushed hard for it on victims’ behalf.

• The UK gets a new PM. We expect to learn who the new British Conservative leader — and thus prime minister — is. Boris Johnson and Jeremy Hunt are vying to replace Theresa May, who resigned after failing repeatedly to finalize a deal for the UK’s departure from the European Union. The new PM will have just 30 days to get Brexit done.

WEDNESDAY

• It’s Mueller time (again). The ex-special counsel is set to testifyin what’s likely to be appointment viewing across the country. The House Judiciary and Intelligence committees subpoenaed Robert Muellerto answer questions publicly for the first time about his 22-month investigation into Trump and 2016 election meddling.

• Countdown to the Summer Games. Whether you’re tearing up the track, rowing up a storm or dominating the table tennis court, you’ve got exactly one year to brush up before the Summer Olympics begin in Tokyo.

SATURDAY

• We honor Korean War veterans. A grateful nation pays tributeto Americans who served in uniform, includingabout a million brave men and women who are still with us. Sixty-six years after the armistice was signed, Trump continues to make attempts at diplomacy between North and South Korea.

• Ride till you can’t no more. The western rap by Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus just inked its 15th week leading Billboard’s Hot 100. Can “Old Town Road” mosey into a tie for No. 1 just in time for National Day of the Cowboy?
