Ruth Sette, 86, passed away December 30, 2020 in Helena, MT.
Ruth was born May 3, 1934 to Dr. Reuben C. and Mary Fjellman in Minneapolis, MN, where she grew up. Attending University of Minnesota, she met Walter C. Ellingson. The two married June 20, 1953 and lived most of the next 15 yrs in Minnesota. In 1968 the family moved to Bismarck, ND where Ruth continued her education at University of Mary and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in early childhood education in 1972 - their marriage ended later that year.
Marrying Theodore "Jim" Sette on November 26, 1976, they soon moved to West Yellowstone, MT and purchased two motels because they loved the area. In the early 1980's Ruth joined Church Universal and Triumph and moved to their ranch in Paradise Valley, MT where she taught Montessori school for 25 years, enjoying the people and outdoors in the area she loved.
She is survived by her children, Elizabeth Lindquist, James Ellingson (Kristina Host), Sarah Kearl (Steve), and David Ellingson; and six grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and longtime friend, Anneli Boston. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, one grandchild, and one great-grandchild. Private services will be held.
