BILLINGS – A driver lost control of their car and collided with a power pole, severing it and knocking down power lines on the 1900 block of 2nd Avenue North at about 2 a.m. Sunday morning.
The vehicle then rolled, collided with a house and ejected the driver who was the only occupant. Speed and alcohol are suspected factors in the crash.
The driver suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital where he remains.
The downed power lines knocked out power to parts of the downtown area. Crews are working to fix them and hope to have power restored later today.
The Billings Police Department is investigating the incident.
