BOZEMAN – The city of Bozeman reports that it has spent $195,839 in pothole repairs since July of last year.
The cost to repair potholes comes out of the annual street maintenance tax which is $198 for the average sized lot. But the amount of money that citizens are required to pay doesn’t change regardless of the number of potholes requiring maintenance.
Due to above average snowfall this winter, the city has had to spend more money on pothole repairs.
“Last year we did about $150,000 worth of potholes in a twelve month period, this year in the last 10 months we’ve done $200,000, and we still got another couple of months to go.” said Matt Workman, assistant street superintendent for the City of Bozeman.
If you see a pothole, you can report it to the city by calling 406-582-3208.
