A group of motorcycle enthusiasts has started a club for veterans all across Montana.
Shawn Belk says they brought the United States Veterans Motorcycle Club Big Sky Chapter to Great Falls in January.
“We currently have ten members so hopefully we can grow,” Belk said.
They want to give veterans and those who still serve a place they can go to find support: “If you still have the uniform on or have taken it off, you are welcome," Belk said.
They plan to participate in poker runs and will be hosting bike nights for those interested in joining.
Belk says they want to help those who have left the service find a family on the outside.
"Far too often I think once you take the uniform off, you’re forgotten. It is hard to have conversations or feel a sense of belonging in the civilian world, which makes that transition difficult, we want to make it a little bit easier," Belk said.
Their first bike night will be June 7th at the Alumni Club on 6th Street NW.
