BOZEMAN, Mont. – Single-family homes prices in Gallatin County have increased by 18 percent since last August, according to the Gallatin Association of Realtors.
Additionally, the number of new single-family homes on the market has decreased. In August of 2017, there were 202, versus 189 in August 2018, a 6.4 percent decrease.
“This is a really a nationwide issue. It’s not just Bozeman; there’s some tight markets all across the nation and there is an increase in home prices across the nation as well,” said Steve Candler, CEO of Gallatin County Realtors and Big Sky County MLS.
The number of single-family home sales increased by 14 percent in August 2018 compared to last year, going from 157 to 179 units sold. Condo/townhouse sales fell 2.4 percent, decreasing slightly from 83 to 81 units sold, and the average sale price in the condo/townhouse market jumped 2.9 percent, according to GAR.
