Gallatin Valley YMCA offering discount memberships for MSU students after loss of gyms

Posted

BOZEMAN, Mont. – After a pair of roof collapses at Montana State University, the Gallatin Valley YMCA is one of several community organizations stepping up to help students who are trying to stay healthy.

While the Marga-Hoseaus Fitness Center remains closed during the investigation, YMCA staff say they are waiving all initiation fees for those impacted…and lowering monthly memberships to just $25.

The YMCA emphasizes that it’s not just students who can use the help, giving all MSU fitness center members a limited time at their complex to stay active.

“Everybody’s over the snow but now there’s a lot of people on campus that are really over the snow,” said Stan Miller, membership coordinator at the Gallatin Valley YMCA. “We are just happy to be able to open our doors to them and offer a membership for them to get them through just a rough period.”

The YMCA’s hours for all of those affected will range from 11 am to 5 pm — then 7 pm to 9 pm.

Staff say this policy will stay in place until the gym issue is resolved.
