Big Horn County reported on Saturday that another county resident has died from complications due to COVID-19, bringing the death total in Big Horn to 61.
The person who died is a woman in her 70s who was hospitalized prior to her death on Friday. It is the 13th COVID-related death reported in Big Horn County for the month of December.
Big Horn County currently has an overall COVID fatality rate of 2.8 percent; the rate increases to 19.9 percent for the 70-and-older age bracket.
Thirteen new COVID-19 cases have been confirmed since Thursday in Big Horn County, with 107 currently active and 2,143 total cases.
According to data compiled by MTN News, there have now been 958 deaths in Montana due to COVID-19.
