Madison Valley Medical Center (MVMC) said in a statement the center has recently learned one of its employees has tested positive for COVID-19.

“After working with the Madison County Health Department, all individuals who had close contact with this individual were quarantined and were tested for COVID-19. All test results were negative,” MVMC’s statement said.

According to MVMC it is difficult to determine where or how its employee became infected.

The employee is isolated at home and resting comfortably, the statement said. MVMC did not specify if this was a new case or previously confirmed in the county.

MVMC said it practices extreme precautions to prevent the spread of coronavirus, including cleaning, disinfecting, and appropriate screening of patients and employees.

There are designated areas of the facility designated only for patients with respiratory symptoms, and all infection control guidelines are strictly adhered to.
