BILLINGS- Hospitals are rapidly going through the first shipment of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine that was shipped to Montana last week.

Those with St. Vincent Healthcare say front-line workers and first responders have been offered the vaccine as a priority under guidelines.

But now, all hospital staff along with others were offered the vaccine as early as last week.

According to a statement, in order to maximize the supply, St. Vincent officials started to offer the vaccine to clinic-based healthcare workers and hospital staff.

“The response from our St. Vincent caregivers to the arrival of the COVID-19 vaccine has been overwhelmingly positive, and we’ve worked through our supply rapidly. We look forward to the arrival of more vaccine shipments so we can continue to vaccinate all healthcare workers and first responders, ensuring our ability to provide care to our patients and the communities we serve," the statement said.

St. Vincent Healthcare was among the first in Montana to receive and start administering the vaccine to its staff.

The hospital announced last Monday morning it has received its first shipment of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine.

Then last Tuesday, Gov. Steve Bullock was at St. Vincent Healthcare as health-care workers received the first doses of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine.
