Yellowstone County health officials reported Friday two more COVID-19-related deaths over the past three weeks.
The county now has 230 COVID-19-related deaths, including 24 since the beginning of 2021, according to RiverStone Health, the county's public health agency.
On Jan. 23, a woman in her 50s died at a Billings hospital.
Then, on Feb. 11, a man in his 50s died at a Billings hospital.
“My heart goes out to the families and friends of these pandemic victims,” said John Felton, RiverStone Health CEO and Yellowstone County health officer, in a statement. “COVID-19 illness has taken the lives of our community members in a wide range of ages.”
At least 15,978 Yellowstone County residents have tested positive for the virus that causes COVID-19, according to RiverStone Health records. Monday through Thursday of this week, Yellowstone County reported a daily average of 40 new cases, which is an increase from last week.
Among those infected, 1,032 Yellowstone County residents have been hospitalized, including 19 patients newly admitted to hospitals since Feb.1.
