A former East Glacier teacher has been charged in federal court for sexual abuse.

Sierra Shawnee Taylor, also known as Sierra Schildt, pleaded not guilty to one count of sexual abuse of a minor.

According to court documents, Taylor knowingly engaged in sexual acts with a young man.

The victim was between the ages of 12 and 16 years old at the time of the alleged offense. It has not been released if the young man was a student at the time.

According to East Glacier Park Grade School Principal and Superintendent Karlona Sheppard, Taylor worked for the district between August of 2009 and June of 2015.

Taylor resigned from the school district and Sheppard says it was not a forced resignation.

Taylor was released from federal custody last week.

Her trial has been set for June 10.
