Powell County Sheriff Gavin Roselles confirms they have a 35-year-old Montana man in custody in connection with the highway standoff Thursday morning.
He had not released the identity of the suspect pending further investigation. Roselles said the suspect was allegedly involved in a shooting with law enforcement in Gallatin County earlier that morning.
The man was arrested about 7:35 a.m. after about a four-hour standoff.
Authorities confirmed that firearms were recovered from the scene.

A man is in custody after a standoff with police on Interstate 90 just west of Garrison Thursday morning.
Butte Sheriff Ed Lester said SWAT teams from Butte-Silver Bow and Missoula were called out to Powell County and they arrested the man who was holed up in his disabled pickup truck on the highway. No one was injured in the arrest.
The sheriff had no information on the identity of the man arrested, but said he was in custody in Powell County.
The incident started as a shooting incident in Gallatin County early Thursday, which turned into a multi-county police pursuit on the highway involving several law enforcement agencies.
The interstate was shut down for several hours during the standoff but has since been opened up to traffic.
