Fire near Lame Deer causes road closures, prompts evacuations

UPDATE

Residents are being evacuated to Lame Deer High School.

The Rosebud County Sheriff’s Office reports Highway 212 west of Lame Deer is currently closed and parts of the west side have been evacuated to Lame Deer High School.

People are asked to avoid the area.


LAME DEER – A fire broke out near Lame Deer Sunday afternoon, and officials have closed parts of two highways.

Highway 39 is closed from the roundabout to Lame Deer, and 212 is closed near the Boundary Road.

County agencies, Ashland and Forsyth officials are at the scene.
