BOZEMAN, Mont. – On Saturday morning, Hyalite Fire Department, assisted by multiple agencies, quickly contained a mobile home fire in Bozeman but were unable to save two dogs stuck inside.
Around 7 a.m. on Saturday, Hyalite FIre was dispatched to a residential structure fire on Launfal Lane. Firefighters arrived at the single-wide mobile home and, with heavy smoke and flames visible, began an exterior fire attack.
Hyalite said on Facebook that Engine 6 was notified all occupants of the home were out, but two dogs were still inside. Engine 6 then performed a rapid rescue and along with sheriff’s deputies, attempted CPR on the dogs. Unfortunately, the dogs did not survive.
The Bozeman Fire Department, Central Valley Fire District, Gallatin Gateway Fire Department, Fort Ellis Fire/Rescue, and the Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office all responded to provide mutual aid.
Firefighters had the fire contained within 30 minutes, and the occupants sustained only minor injuries that did not require ambulance transport.
