MISSOULA- An emergency medical evacuation was requested for an injured firefighter just before 5 p.m. Tuesday, according to Lolo National Forest officials.
According to a press release, a firefighter sustained a lower leg injury and was airlifted directly to St. Patrick’s Hospital for medical treatment.
“Thanks to the support from multiple resources on the fire, the firefighter was airlifted off the mountain quickly and is currently in stable condition,” forest officials said in the release.
The Beeskove Fire in the Rattlesnake area north of Missoula grew to 211 acres Tuesday. About 175 people are fighting the fire.
