The Bear Creek Fire, burning in the Lemhi Pass area, now stands at 6,110 acres, a sizeable jump from Saturday's estimate of around 4,600 acres burned.
According to InciWeb, GIS mapping incorporated burned out areas interior to the fire line, causing the increase in acreage.
The fire, about 29 miles east of Salmon, Idaho, is currently 5 percent contained, and fire activity is expected to increase due to poor relative humidity recoveries Saturday night and increased winds on Sunday.
There are currently 327 total personnel assigned to the Bear Creek Fire, with eight helicopters, two fixed-wing water scooping airplanes, one Type 2 crew, four Type 2 IA crew, three Type 1 crews, and six engines.
Fire officials warn people recreating on Clark Canyon Reservoir to be aware of and avoid aircraft using the water source for fire activity.
