Bear Creek Fire stands at more than 4,600 acres, zero percent contained

The Bear Creek Fire, detected Tuesday, has burnt an estimated 4,663 acres as of Saturday.

The blaze is burning 29 miles east of Salmon Idaho, in the Lemhi Pass area of the Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest and is 0% contained.

According to a Saturday morning update, eight helicopters, two fixed-wing water scooping airplanes, five Type 2 IA crew, three Type 1 crews, seven engines and 318 total personnel are assigned to the fire.

Officials urged people recreating on Clark Canyon reservoir to be aware of and stay clear of aircraft using the water source for fire activity.
