BOZEMAN, Mont.- Bozeman firefighters hosted the 3rd Annual Fire in the Park at Fire Station #3 on Saturday.
Each year the Bozeman Fire Department puts together the event as a way to engage the community and give citizens a taste of what it is like to be on the job.
There were a number of interactive activities were kids got to extinguish fake flames with a fire hose, lift a dummy on a gurney, and get an exclusive look at the inside of a fire engine.
The fire department also hosted a number of demonstrations like how they cut open a car to get car accident victims out and what a fire looks inside your house with and without fire sprinklers.
The demonstrations are targeted to engage the audience while still helping them learn about safety.
“It gives the community an opportunity to really meet their fire department, see the equipment that we have and the services we provide and really just continue to build that bond with our citizens,” said Fire Chief Joshua Waldo.
