BOZEMAN, Mont. – Around 300 cars were on display in downtown Bozeman on Sunday for the 18th Annual Cruisin’ on Main car show.

Each year the Downtown Bozeman Association puts on this event to bring car lovers together to celebrate classic cars, trucks and motorcycles.

Eight-year-old James Deermin from Bozeman entered his 2017 rally cart that he built himself. He said driving it around gives him a thrill.

“Well I am kinda just like, well I gotta be really careful on this turn, it looks pretty hard, whoa okay I need gas, I need gas,” said Deermin.

Each year car spectators take a tour of the car before voting for their favorite. The winner of the People’s Choice Award gets to be on next year’s poster.

“Well, I just thought it would be really fun to see other new cars and have mine in it. And it would be fun to have a chance to win a trophy,” said Deermin.

Deemin had some tough competition this year. There were cars of all different brands and generations including a 1961 yellow and blue Hayward Ice Cream Truck, a hand-painted Harley Davidson, and a 1957 Chevy mobile home with a front bumper sticker that says ‘not a UFO’.

Owner David Soule says he built it out of a two-ton Chevy Truck back in 1981, and this is the first car show it has ever been entered in.

“We have only ever passed people on the road and we typically leave them looking like, oh what was that,” said Soule. “So it’s fun. We have met so many people today that have said ‘I saw you in Yellowstone’, or ‘Yeah, yesterday you were on 191’. It is amazing but it is fun to share back because I built it for my personal comfort and then our comfort and now for people to have fun with it. It’s just great.”

Around 7,000 people packed onto Main St. to celebrate. All of the winners from the show are listed below.
