BOZEMAN, Mont. – Montana State University expects more than 3,000 students to arrive on move-in day, Wednesday, August 22, 2018. It advises locals to steer clear of the university area if possible and asks those dropping off students and belongings to check out the traffic maps.
While the majority of students are moving in Wednesday there’s already about 1,000 who have settled into their dorms. Madison Haagenson is pursing a degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering and had to skip move-in day to give a speech for a scholarship. Her mother, Cordell, says she’s okay with the scheduling conflict.
“She’s kind of sad we’re missing it me and dad not so much,” said Cordell Haagenson.
Behind Yellowstone Hall, where Haagenson was moving in Spirt of the West Marching Band practiced their moves for upcoming events.
“We see a lot of the moving and it’s very like stressful but all of our freshman have moved in and they don’t have to deal with that,” said Kendra Hergett.
Classes at MSU begin Monday, August 27.
