BOZEMAN, Mont.- On Wednesday evening there was a dedication ceremony for a new field at Monforton Middle School in honor of Dave Ressler.
Ressler, who was 61 years old, died in November 2017.
Ressler was the owner or part owner of five auto dealerships in Gallatin County. Those included Ressler Motors, Bozeman Toyota, Gallatin Motor Company, Ressler of Belgrade and Four Corners Auto.
He was also known as a generous supporter of community projects, foundations, and agencies for those in need.
Dave gave a donation to the school that was used for a new football field. Dave’s family is in town for the ceremony and it’s his birthday this week.
“It’s just a pennies from heaven sort of thing for us,” said Monforton Elementary School Superintendent Darren Strauch. “We didn’t necessarily anticipate even being able to complete this part of the project in our original timeline and then to be able to have it available for student use.”
The school is still accepting donations for the new field.
