Time limit extended for handicap parking spaces in downtown Bozeman

Posted

BOZEMAN, Mont. – People can now park for 4 hours in downtown handicap parking spots due to concern from local residents.

In the past, people with a handicap sticker could only park for free for two hours, but as a way of making the downtown area more accessible, the parking commission has extended the amount of time to 4 hours.

“We want to be a city that is accessible for all. The two hour time limits downtown were not giving people who needed a limit more time, enough time to enjoy the amenities we had. So we felt like this was the right thing to do,” said Assistant City Manager Chuck Winn.

As long as drivers have a sticker in the rear-view mirror or on the vehicle’s license plate, they are allowed to park in these designated spots.
