On Thursday, the Bozeman Police Department posted on its Facebook page:

Members of Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks and Bozeman Police Department spent some this morning removing a bear from a home. The 25-year old female black bear was found taking a nap in the homeowner’s garage.

It appears she partook in the neighbor’s honeybee hives before lying down to rest. Homeowners tried to roust her and scare her away, but she was very content sleeping against their garage door. She was tranquilized and released back into the wild. It’s a good reminder to be bear aware…even if you live near downtown!
