BOZEMAN, Mont. – Faculty, students and staff at Montana State University are encouraged to look into alternative commutes this week during the Campus Commute Week Challenge. Daily forums are being held about various means of travel including streamline, biking and carpooling.
Campus Commute Week Challenge is being put on with collaboration from MSU and the Water Transportation Institute. At the end of the week, participants can win raffle items. Monday’s forum was “Women on Wheels,” where female bicyclists shared their experiences and gave tips to new bikers.
“It seems easy, but there are lifestyle changes to become a bicycle commuter,” said Candace Mastel, MSU Planner. “Waking up earlier, having warmer clothes and having the right bicycle is really important and even most important is knowing the rules of the road and how to stay safe.”
