Belgrade Police: Friday threat to high school not credible

In a follow-up post on Facebook, Belgrade High School Principal Paul Lamb said police have identified the individual responsible for Thursday night’s threatening message and have determined following an investigation that there is no credible threat to the school.

BELGRADE, Mont. – After two shelters-in-place this week, Belgrade High School is seeing a police presence on Friday due to messages students received Thursday night, saying “Don’t Come to School Tomorrow”.

Belgrade High Principal Paul Lamb said in a post on the Belgrade School District Facebook page that students reported receiving the message via an iPhone AirDrop. A police presence would be maintained Friday as a safety precaution, he said.

“We take these threats seriously and will prosecute anyone caught making threats,” Lamb added.

The principal also said in the post that going forward, any school days canceled will have to be made up and privileges may have to be restricted.
