BOZEMAN, Mont. – Construction at Bozeman’s Community Food Co-op has been an ongoing project and one that’s going to be something pretty incredible.
This project allows for the Co-op to consolidate from five buildings to two. Right now, the company has an offsite kitchen, bakery, warehouse, and office. They have outgrown their current facilities.
The construction will add 1,500 feet of retail space, and the rest of the addition is for more of their behind-the-scenes work such as their kitchen, bakery, and warehouse.
“24,000 cars a day pass by the Co-op, and you’ll be able to drive or walk by, or bike by, and you’ll see people baking bread, making pastries and cooking food,” said General Manager Kelly Wiseman. “We think it’s a nice way of saying, this is another way of showing where your food comes from; it’s actually made by your friends and neighbors right here at 9th—now 10th—and Main.”
The roof of the building will be a green roof that will release oxygen into the air. The new addition is expected to be complete by June of 2019.
