BOZEMAN, Mont. – A police pursuit ended Saturday night with the arrest of a 19-year-old woman who allegedly fled a police stop and collided with another vehicle before crashing through the fence of a nonprofit in downtown Bozeman.

According to the Bozeman Police Department, officers responded around 11 p.m. Saturday to 911 calls reporting disorderly conduct and shots fired.

Officers reportedly stopped a silver passenger vehicle at 7th and Durston. The woman driver fled the stop and led officers on a pursuit that ended when she ran a red light at 11th and Main, crashing into another vehicle, and then into the fence of the Cancer Support Community (CSC).

CSC Executive Director Becky Franks said she got a call about the accident a little after midnight. She said there was damage done to the fence and the center’s hope garden but doesn’t believe there was any structural damage done to the building. Franks said she will work to make sure the garden is repaired as soon as possible for the cancer patients who need it.

“The beauty of this garden helps them feel at peace,” said Franks. “So we are going to get it back to that condition as soon as possible because we know that tomorrow people will be diagnosed with cancer and we are gonna be there for them.”

This isn’t the first time CSC a car has crashed into the center’s building. In 2009, Franks got a call in the middle of the night from an officer saying a truck had crashed through the CSC’s kitchen at its former 19th and Lincoln location.

“At that time it was like 3 in the morning. I went there with the people who owned the building and I had to spend the night to secure the building,” said Franks.

Four people were injured in the Saturday night crash and taken to Bozeman Health Deaconess Hospital, police say. No further information about their condition is known at this time.

The woman is currently in custody at the Gallatin County Detention Center. She is scheduled to appear in Justice Court on Monday.

The incident is still under investigation.
