BOZEMAN, Mont. – Monday night, the Bozeman School Board approved spending $2.2 million in upgrades to the district’s schools.

Each year the district goes through all of the schools to assess what the needs are for each individuals building. Every school is getting some sort of upgrade and Chief Joseph Middle School is receiving security upgrades.

The district plans to improve the lock and entry systems along with the flow of people through the main office area.

“It’s actually a fairly new building but there have been many changes even over the past 10 or 15 years in that regard, but the board allocated some money for us to look at a better secure entrance to that building,” Bozeman School District Deputy Superintendent Steve Johnson said.

The district knows school safety is a huge concern for families and they plan to continue ensuring all of the schools have sufficient safety measures.
