BOZEMAN, Mont. – The High School Transition Committee for Bozeman’s new high school has almost nailed down its recommendation for the boundary lines.

Of the options being considered, they have narrowed it down to two: option “B” and option “D”.

B follows 19th south from the interstate to Paterson road and then continues the boundary line west along Paterson until it reaches the Gallatin Gateway Boundary. It then continues the boundary line south following the Gallatin Gateway Boundary.

Option D creates more of an equal distance from each school. It makes it more possible for students to walk or bike to school.

“The reason it primarily got narrowed to those two is because the other options involved Anderson School District attending the new high school, where options B and D have Anderson attending the existing high school, which seemed to be important for the committee to sort of divide up where the rural school students attend,” said Superintendent of Schools Rob Watson.

The committee is leaning towards option D but hasn’t completely ruled out option B. The committee is hoping to make a recommendation to the school board later in January.
