UPDATE: 3/7/19, 8 p.m. According to the Montana Highway Patrol, traffic was diverted from the westbound lane of I90 earlier Thursday evening after a pile-up crash involving 11 cars. Another 8 vehicles reportedly slide off the highway in a short area between the Belgrade and Airport exits.

A trooper said that one vehicle was attempting to slow down quickly and was hit from behind. The following vehicle also was attempting to slow down and was also hit, causing a domino effect.

There were no serious injuries in the crash, an ambulance arrived on the scene for one person, who denied medical assistance.

BELGRADE, Mont. – Slick roads and poor visibility contributed to a multi-vehicle pileup and slide off between Belgrade and the airport exit on Interstate 90. At 6 p.m. Montana Highway Patrol is reporting 13 crashes and slide-offs in a two-mile stretch. At least one of the crashes was reported with injuries.

This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
