Gallatin Valley Food Bank workers helped raise awareness of childhood hunger by dressing up in orange for “Wear Orange Wednesday.”

The event was a part of Fight Childhood Hunger Week, with students throughout the state working to raise awareness about childhood hunger through Governor and First Lady Bullock’s Youth Leadership Council.

Gallatin Valley Foodbank Child Nutrition Programs director Lyra Leigh-Nedbor hopes that these actions can help combat childhood hunger, which remains an issue in Gallatin County.

“It really pains me to know that there are kids that go home on Fridays and really stress out where their food might come from and are worried that they have to eat a lot food during lunch at school, during free lunch, so that I can make sure that I’m not hungry over the weekend. I don’t ever want to see that for any child,” Nedbor said.
