Bozeman residents pitch in to help for Clean Up Day

Posted

BOZEMAN, Mont. – Hundreds of residents grabbed trash bags and gloves on Saturday as they cleaned up a designated part of Bozeman for Clean Up Day.

The sign-up started at 8 a.m. at the Bozeman Public Library, and the event lasted until noon. Clean Up Day happens each year around Earth Day to get people to tidy up the community that has been covered in snow for months.

“After a long winter it is just important that everyone bands together and kinda cleans up what they can,” said Bozeman Neighborhoods Coordinator Tanya Andreasen. “It is not enough to have the street sweepers sweeping up gravel from the winter and streets. We also have boulevards and parks and our own private property, as well, that needs some tidying up.”

Once the bags were full, they were left curbside to be picked up by the Solid Waste Department.
