Voters took to the polls Tuesday, May 7, 2019, in a number of school elections.

In Belgrade, all three levies failed with the voters.

The Elementary School General Fund levy increase of $700,000 to help cover costs of added school space, failed in a race that wasn’t particularly close – 58 percent of voters said no.

A levy to replace aging equipment for elementary technology classes fared about the same, with 59 percent of voters saying no to that $600,000 request.

And it was much the same story for a request for $300,000 for technology at Belgrade high, where 57 percent of voters rejected an increase in taxes for that.

In Bozeman, voters were of a different mind over school levies.

A $115,000 general fund increase passed easily with 62 percent of voters approving.

A $2 million building reserve levy also passed in Bozeman. That request to set aside funds for future building needs passing with 57 percent of the vote.

Levies lost in Three Forks, but the vote was very close.

An Elementary General Fund levy increase of $55,000 was defeated by just 51 to 49 percent.

And a High School General Fund levy of another $55,000 also failed but wasn’t quite as close at 53 to 47 percent.

Voters in Big Sky approved a building reserve levy for $600,000.
