BOZEMAN, Mont.- The kid’s swings at Beall Park in Bozeman has been removed and it has left many parents and children wondering why.

Last year and this year there have been incidents of kids who are too big for the infant bucket swings climbing into them and getting stuck.

The fire department has had to come to the park to cut these children out of the swings.

After it happening repeatedly, the Parks and Recreation Department decided to remove them.

“This is a supervision issue more than anything,” City of Bozeman Director of Parks and Recreation, Mitch Overton said. “Those seats are labeled for six months to 23 months technically is what the label states and with proper supervision, a lot of this could be curbed.”

There are plans to replace the bucket swings with the traditional belt swings and have some of the swings lower to the ground for younger children.
