The Montana Department of Transportation says one of their next big road construction projects is set to focus near Downtown Bozeman.

Those living along Rouse Avenue are getting the chance to hear all about it in a public open house.

MDT says in mid-September, Rouse Avenue between Main Street and Oak Street will turn into a construction zone, equipped with several detours.

Part of the project includes widening the road for more traffic and installing new box culverts, especially near Peach Street.

It’s not the only project they have in the works; crews are nearly finished with the construction at Love Lane and Huffine west of town.

MDT says while you are driving around all of the orange, respect it and the crews wearing it.

“Obey the posted speed limit,” says Craig Walker, project manager with MDT. “I mean, that’s safety for not only the traveling public but the contractor and everybody working on the project. Be patient.”

The construction on Rouse is expected to finish up in fall 2020.

As for Love Lane and Huffine, the lights are expected to come on early August.
