BOZEMAN — Mountain Time Arts is a local organization that really aims at not just raising awareness, but getting residents to think about topics in really creative ways.
“It’s just such a surprise. It’s really fun. Around every corner, it’s a surprise and new information,” said spectator Jamie McEvoy.
Mountain Time Arts held a visual performance incorporating information about Bozeman Creek, one of Bozeman’s main water sources.
“We want to continue to preserve the integrity of the creek. We want to keep it clean. We want to allow it to meander in this area, and we want people to appreciate all of the wonderful things that it gives us,” explained Dr. Shane Doyle, an organizer and performer.
And for participants, the performance exceeded expectations.
“It was not what I was expecting. It was a lot more action and a much bigger production than I was anticipating and I really enjoyed it,” said spectator Drew Tiger.
But aside from the visuals, the message is clear.
“Sometimes we tend to think of it just as a resource for water, but it’s much more than that. It’s a habitat. It’s a home for so many different animals. It’s a place for us spiritually to renew ourselves, and so we want people to think of the water in all those different ways,” Dr. Doyle said.
Mountain Time Arts hosts performances every summer. But unfortunately, this was the last set for this year. But you can always be on the lookout for next summer’s performances.
