BOZEMAN — While the pandemic has forced many businesses to close or downscale, a generous donation from two local residents is allowing Bozeman Health Deaconess Hospital to expand.

Four million dollars was gifted, in addition to the $200,000 the Sheehy family already gave earlier this year in support of the new neonatal intensive care unit set to open later this fall.

The expansion will allow the hospital to offer services that patients typically had to travel to other bigger cities to have done.

“We will also expand behavioral health services to moms and babies, pediatrics and adolescents who clearly need that support behavioral health professionals to really have a great start to their lives," explained John Hill, President and CEO of Bozeman Health.

The hospital was able to hire two pediatric subspecialists in pediatric cardiology and pediatric general surgery. Services will likely be available starting in 2021.
