BOZEMAN — Bozeman Public School officials decided to put the time students are away from school to good use.

Construction workers have started the reconstruction process of the old high school.

The reconstruction includes new classrooms, a 750-seat auditorium and more modern-styled structures.

The project was originally set to begin in the summer after the school year, but effects from the pandemic allowed them an early start.

“With not having kids in the classrooms, we took kind of a hard look at it and said is this an opportunity for us to get any kind of an early start with the construction progress. You can tell that that decision was made,” explained Todd Swinehart with the school district.

Construction is set to take place until the Spring semester of 2022.
