The annual Bozeman Marathon is this Sunday.
Runners will be competing in either the full or half marathon on Sunday, or the YMCA 5k on Saturday.
Those not running the marathon should be aware of runners and the roads that will closed near the finish line.
"Willson’s closed all the way down to Main Street. Main Street is closed all the way as well into the finish." Race Director Casey Jermyn said.
There are alternative routes for drivers.
"You can easily continue down South 3rd to Nash over to Sourdough. There’s a lot of easy detours, which is another nice thing about this course in that direction." Jermyn said.
Aside from roads that will be closed Sunday morning, hundreds of people will be lining up which will cause delays.
"Just be patient. It won’t take long for it to thin out If you’re driving in that area. Try and avoid it if you see the course markings, the cones. Finding an alternate route is probably the easiest thing. Please slow down, be patient, and remember everyone out there having fun. " Jermyn said.
The Bozeman Marathon was first run in 2012 and has been a huge hit for both local and out of state runners.
"We’ve seen a spike in participation. We’ll be close to 1,000 runners In the three events, most of which will be in the half marathon. Both the full and the half seeing significant growth this year which has been fun and exciting." said Jermyn.
On Sunday, Main Street from Willson to Rouse will be closed until 3 p.m. to make way for marathon runners.
