BOZEMAN — What better way to celebrate Cinco de Mayo than by giving back to the community?

Well, that’s exactly what one Bozeman man was thinking.

John O’Donnell got a group of his friends together and raised money so the Thrive organization could treat its clients and staff to lunch while supporting La Tinga, a local Mexican restaurant in Bozeman.

“I just emailed a whole bunch of friends and said 'hey how about we all chip in and enjoy and support La Tinga and while we are doing that and helping them we’ll also be able to help Thrive,'” O'Donnell explained.

More than $1,000 was raised by the group.
