BOZEMAN — It’s difficult these days to find work when many businesses are in the process of slowly reopening.
This week, the Financial Opportunities Center with the HRDC will host an online event where they’ll explain where to look for work, and how to spruce up your resume.
“So it’s really about helping individuals and job seekers navigate the workplace and labor market in a way that works for them during this time,” said Laci Mottice, Workforce Development Coordinator at the HRDC.
The Financial Opportunities Center will host a webinar on how to create and improve your resume with the help and support career coaches and counselors.
“We are able to give people financial coaching, career coaching, and then connect them with education opportunities, training opportunities that maybe they wouldn't have access to otherwise,” said Mottice.
The webinars will be this Thursday from 7-8pm and Friday from 12pm-1. Anybody is welcome to attend this free event.
“It’s not just for people that may be experiencing poverty or who are low income. But it’s really for people of all income levels.”
While the pandemic has slowed down the job market, people are still hiring, including landscaping, some retail, stocking and food delivery.
“It’s going to be most prevalent to people who are currently looking for employment opportunities and then I think it's also going to be good for people who maybe they’re already employed and they just want to make some edits to their resumes,” said Mottice.
Staff say this isn’t a one size fits all approach, counseling is unique and specialized for the individual.
“When we say Financial Opportunities Center it’s helping individuals go from striving to thriving.”
