BOZEMAN — Doors remain open at Daniels Gourmet Meats, but not in the literal sense.

“We chose not to have people not to come in and we’re doing everything by a safe delivery,” said Austin Daniels, owner at Daniels Gourmet Meats and Sausages.

According to the Governor's Directive, the artisan meat shop is considered an essential business.

While curb-side delivery is not mandated by the directive, Daniels said changing up how the business is typically run was a no-brainer.

“I’ve got a family, I’ve got three kids, I’ve got a staff to take care of. So for us it made more sense,” said Daniels.

Now shopping is done entirely online or on the phone, and all customers have to do is come pick up their order.

“We’re gonna deliver that package to our delivery table. Everything is clean, sterile, safe. And you don’t have to have any contact which we believe mitigate your risks.”

And while the new adjustments can be challenging, Daniels says it’s all worth it.

“For us it was just safety first, family and community first.”
