MANHATTAN — Saturday afternoon, Manhattan High School celebrated its 2020 senior graduates by painting the town orange.

Locals were encouraged to display orange banners and flags, as well as dress up their homes and storefronts with Manhattan Tigers spirit decoration.

A car rally drove through Main Street with seniors leading the way, while a crowd of family and friends cheered them on.

Manhattan High School principal Jason Slater said it was a great way to celebrate the seniors, including one of his own, and described the senior class as kind and resilient.

“It’s very cool to see a community and parents and their expression of love and appreciation for school and seniors,” said Slater.

“To share that special moment and to show how much they care about our kids is special, it’s very neat.”

And just so you know, prizes for “the best in show” and best decorated home and storefront will be announced on the school's Facebook page.
