BUTTE — If you ask Dr. Hilary Risser, she’ll tell you math is the heart of Montana Tech’ s entire program.
Dr. Risser talked with Montana This Morning’s Chet Layman about Montana Tech’s Mathematical Sciences program. She is the department head of a program she says gives students on the Butte campus a unique way to use their skills. She says because class size at Tech are smaller, students get to work more closely with professors and instructor, in research, and in practical use.
Dr. Risser says it’s not unusual for Tech students to work in conjunction with other departments, bringing their math skills to other fields of study.
